The Land // Sea GMT is Seals Watch Company's dual-time tool watch, built on the same 38mm 316L stainless steel platform as the Land // Sea Classic, extended with a true traveler GMT complication and a recessed 24-hour internal chapter ring. Designed for daily wear across time zones, assembled and regulated in El Dorado Hills, California.

The Miyota 9075 movement at its core is a true traveler GMT: the local hour hand adjusts independently in one-hour increments without stopping the movement or disturbing the GMT hand. Set your home time once. Cross time zones with a single crown pull. That's it.

What Is a True GMT and Why Does It Matter?

GMT movements fall into two categories. A caller GMT adjusts the 24-hour hand, useful for tracking a distant time zone from one location, but cumbersome when you're actually crossing time zones. A true traveler GMT adjusts the local hour hand independently, meaning you can flip between zones without resetting minutes, seconds, or your home reference time.

Fixed Bezel. Internal 24-Hour Chapter Ring.

Rather than a rotating external bezel, the Land // Sea GMT uses a fixed radially brushed bezel paired with a recessed internal 24-hour chapter ring. The bezel profile stays clean and uninterrupted. The ring, available in Burnt Sun, Olive Drab, black with summer teel or Everest Blue, provides the day/night reference from within the dial.

How to Set the Miyota 9075 in the Land // Sea GMT

The Miyota 9075 has three crown positions. Here's how to use them:

1. Crown Position 1 — Local Hour / Date: Pull to first click. Rotate to adjust the local hour hand in one-hour increments as you cross time zones. The date adjusts automatically.
2. Crown Position 2 — Minutes, Seconds, GMT Hand: Pull to second click. Set minutes and seconds (movement hacks). The GMT hand sets your home or reference time against the 24-hour ring.
3. Winding: Rotate approximately 40 turns to reach full power reserve.

Note: Avoid advancing the date between 9pm and 3am, the date gear is engaged during this window and forcing it can cause damage.

How It Compares

Most true traveler GMTs at this price point are powered by the Seiko NH34 or jump to Swiss movements like the Sellita SW330 at significantly higher prices. The Miyota 9075 sits in between, more refined than the NH34 in terms of beat rate (28,800 bph vs 21,600) and regulated in-house at the time of California assembly to ±5 sec/day. At 38mm and 12.5mm thick, it wears slimmer than most NH34-based GMTs without the Swiss-movement price premium.
